Raisin Sunday and Raisin Monday

Monday

Threw a party for the children on Raisin Sunday.
I cannot be bothered explaining this unique university tradition so please just google it or sth if you're really interested.

Made my children a raisin string each.

Jefferry (hong kong), Krzysiek (poland), Lisha, Stanley (hong kong), and Shirley (china).
--- Lisha and her kids ---

Claire (china), Ruby (taiwan), Kelvin, and Petra (taiwan).
--- Kelvin and his daughters ---
(I only adopted Ruby before she left the party...)

Kelvin, Fatemeh (iran), me, and Jenny (china).
2 of my daughters and their daddy.

Me and Lisha.

Me and Fatemeh.

I was not drunk, honestly.
I didn't drink a lot. My face just gets red easily.

Another pic of Jenny and me.

Had to dress up the children for the foam fight on Sunday morning.
Hence... the below pictures.

Lisha and her children.
I dressed one of them as the farmer's wife (in 3 blind mice) while the other one as 1 of the 3 blind mice. Lisha dressed up the other 2 as smurfs.

Me and 2 of the 3 blind mice.

Taking pic with Smurfette.

Took them to the foam fight at the quad.

Some pictures of 1st years with their raisin receipt.

Going into the quad for the foam fight whilst most parents stayed outside and wait for their children.

The police were there to make sure everything doesn't get outta control.

Ruby and Jenny --- after the foam fight.

Me with 2 of my daughters.

Taking pic with Jefferry and Stanley after the foam fight.

Have to do some work now since I've barely done anything this weekend.

My 20th b'day!

Thursday

Went to the SMIG (St Andrews Malaysian International Group) karaoke and makan party yesterday.
The food was great. We had agar-agar, curry, roti kaya, macaroni goreng, cedokok pisang etc.
Just wanted to put these down even though this isn't what this blog entry is about.

Invited some friends over to my house for my 20th b'day today.
Started to cook at around 2:30p.m. as I told them that the dinner starts at 7p.m..
Cooked some fried rice with prawns & pineapples, minced meat in cabbage, minced meat in green pepper, iced chocolate with pearls and some potato salad.
Also popped the ready-made garlic bread into the oven.
So, I was practically cooking the whole afternoon but I was glad that everyone liked the food I prepared.

Sakurako bringing out my birthday cake... They did turn off the lights but since there's flash... the pic turned out to be bright.

Making a wish...

Attempted to blow out all the candles but failed to do so...

Very happy that I finally managed to blow out all the candles...

Cutting my choc birthday cake...

Daria and Rose also stopped by to give me cards and a present.
Margot and Nell also gave me birthday presents.
They were all really sweet.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, cards and presents. =)

Some events I went to in the past week...

Sunday

Went on a trip to the highlands last Friday and came back last Sunday (It was organised by the psychology department.)
We went to a small town called Newtonmore.
It's a good trip and I got to know some ppl who are in the same class as me.
Here are some pictures taken during the trip...

My first time sleeping on the upper deck of the bunk bed.

Took a walk on the mountain. Saw some sheep along the way. They made funny noises when we walked past them.

Having lunch on the mountain after a long walk.

Me, Ellie, Anna, and some guy (can't remember his name already)

Went to Beryl's 20th b'day party on Wed...

Went to the SMIG (St Andrews Malaysian International Group) Ice-breaking Party on Friday.
Played some games. Had some delicious Malaysian food.
I was glad I went there. I didn't realise there were so many Malaysians in St Andrews.

A girl from Kazakhstan, Shiyin, Pearline and me.

I went to Monica's Halloween Party yesterday night. Didn't want to spend money on halloween costumes so I wore my cheongsam.

I love how the house was decorated.
There were cobwebs, spiders, skulls, candles, R.I.P. tomb, fingerprints on windows, pumpkins... Didn't manage to take many pictures though.
Monica's dressed up as a vampire and her housemate dressed up as Cruella (from 101 dalmatians).
And yes, she dyed half of her hair black. (She's blonde.)
There's a kid who came for trick or treat. He's dressed up as Death. It's my first time seeing someone knocking on the door and asking for sweets.
We played a few games and it's great fun.

b
I tried Bloody Mary for the first time. It has an unusual taste.

Anyway, Happy Halloween... or should I say Happy Belated Halloween?

(This is my 1st carved pumpkin. I carved it and put a candle into it. For your info, this pic HASN'T BEEN PHOTOSHOPPED. We cooked some pumpkin soup after scooping out the pumpkin and put the seeds into the oven so we could have pumpkin seeds as well.)

updates...

Sunday

Since TY has urged me to update my blog... I've managed to squeeze in some time to do it.
The phone line in my house has been connected but we still have no access to the internet just yet.
Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long for it.

Anyway, I've joined beginner's jazz, theatre, and street this year and all the classes were fun.
I've also decided to try bellydance this year and it's fun too.
So, there's roughly 4 hours of dance per week. =)

As for lectures, there's 3 lectures (each lasts for 2 hrs) per week.
They are on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays... so I have Wednesdays and Fridays free.
There's also practical sessions on the three days... with the Tuesdays' and Thursdays' practical sessions lasting for an hour each.
The 1st practical session for Mon would be on this coming Monday... so I'm not exactly sure how long it would last.
The Psychology department is organising a reading party (for Junior Honours students) to the Highlands and I've signed up for it.
The bus would be leaving on this Fri and we'll be back on Sunday.

Would be going to Monica's house for dinner later.
She's a girl I got to know from dance... and she's kind enough to invite me for dinner even though we've only just known each other.

Hope everyone has been keeping well.

Dinner with the girls

Wednesday

Gaby drove me to MS's house on Monday.
Gaby and MS are going to Russia to study medicine... and would be leaving Penang this coming Monday.
XW & Amanda (these 2 are gg to Britain to study) were already there when we arrived.

We waited for a few more ppl before walking to Domino's to have dinner.
And after dinner... we took some pictures at the restaurant.

Group picture.

CY, XW, Amanda, me.
I seriously don't know why I had such a broad grin on my face.

Me and MS.

Me, MS, PP.

Me, PP, Gaby.

XW, me.

After dinner, Gaby wanted to go for a "drive".
So, Amanda, MS and I hopped into Gaby's car while she drive us around.
Just when we were near the airport, MS suddenly announced that she had a stomachache and wanted to use the toilet in the airport.
LOL!

So, we dropped her off before parking the car.
Since we were already in the airport, we might as well go to the toilet... and that's what we did!
Since the parking fee was RM1, the toilet fee equals to RM0.25 per entry.

Had a nice time catching up with the girls.
Have a safe journey to Russia and Britain, my dear friends.

Meet up with my lovely friends...

Friday

Went for lunch at Queensbay yesterday with Aunty Ong, Shea Ling, Justin, Derrick and Yik Min... oh, along with my mum and Alex.
Aunty Ong treated us lunch.
Then, we walked around the mall for a bit before going to the house their currently living in.
It's large and certainly very pretty.

Then, my brother and I went to Gurney Plaza to meet up with Cassandra since she came back to Penang.
Cassandra, Ashley and Nick were already in Redbox when we arrived.
Joined them in the redbox. Then, we wandered around the shopping mall.
And they decided that it would be funny to imitate what the ppl in the posters were doing...
(There were more pictures taken but I was just lazy to upload everyone of them.)

Ashley, Nick, Cass.

Ashley insisted to take this picture. I don't know why. XD
I like the result of the picture though. It makes me laugh.

We went to play pool for a bit before having dinner.
I'm terrible when it comes to playing pool.
We took some pictures after dinner.

Me and Cass.
I wasn't entirely ready when this picture was taken but anyway...

Family potrait. LOL.
Cass, Alex, me, Ashley (clockwise)

Nick, Ashley, me, Alex.
"Come come come, I'll take one for you guys," --- Cass
And she snapped it when Nick hasn't put up a pose.
"Don't offer to take pictures for us if you don't mean it," --- Nick
LOL.
That's roughly what they said anyway.

Nick, Ashley, me, Alex.

Another pic of us.

I have no idea why I was smiling at the camera.
WEIRD.

Uhhh, yeah, that's me.

Tata for now.
