舞動人生心得
After reading this book, three significant things I learn from the story. First, the history of stereotpyes and prejudices. Actually, stereotpyes and prejudices are not only created in this century but we inherit it from our ancesators. I guess, stereotypes have been existed since prehistoric ages. It is not only exist in North England in the early '80s. However, nowadays the prejudices and the stereotypes of gender haven’t been extinguished. For example, some traditional family think that men have to work out and women have to do housework at home.
Second, the support from parents is indispensable and parents always give their best support to their children even if they have to work hard for a little money. In the story, though Billy Elliot’s father oppose at fist, after he father agree. Father gives him the best support to learn ballet. Even if he has to do something losing face and to be said something ill, but his father still do it. Like my parents, they always give me the money to join some extracurricular activities both for the school and outside the school. Even though their purses are empty, they will work hard and give the money for me as soon as possible.
Finally, I realize to have dreams and fulfill them are important. Woodrow Wilson, one of the American Presidents has said, “We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers.” Dreams could make me improve and be a success like Billy Elliot. As a saying goes, “No pains, no gains.” The greater obstacle ; the more glory after overcoming it. I can’t agree more with this. And that is why I join this reading reflection competition. I know there are many participants who major in English will take part in this competition. But I believe I will receive a sense of achievement as long as I put my best efforts on it!
