[Vox Populi] Cheras Mahkota slip road

Good Evening Miss Teo,

The reason I am writing to you on the above subject is because your blog wont allow my contents to be posted in as it exceeds 1000 characters. I hope you will consider all possible angles before forcing the opening of the alternate road to Cheras Mahkota. Here's my letter. Thank you.

When BN was in power in this constituency, we used to critise them for being unlawful, unfair, having taken the law in their own hands, corruptions, etc etc.

Then the BN alternative or PKR or whatever you called yourselves advocated that you will fight for justice, eradicate corruptions and all the wrongdoings of the BN people.

We gave you a chance, we thought for once vote for the opposition for a change, for better change indeed.

Well, I have to say that this Grand Saga/Cheras Mahkota incident is an eye opener for me. The DAP orchestrated illegal removal of the concrete barrier in an alternate toll-free road and the illegal gathering by the Cheras Mahkota/Sg Long residents clearly shows that the PKR/opposition party is no better than the BN guys we once criticised.

Have you ever considered the reasons why the alternate road was closed or rather, not opened in the first place? Have you seen the traffic jam created with the removal of the barricade (even for just a few days)? The illegal opening of the alternate road has caused inconvenience for Cheras Perdana/ Bandar Tun Hussein Onn residents. The residents of Cheras Perdana and Bandar Tun Hussein Onn have to put up with heavy traffic jams to reach their homes nowadays. Don't forget that the residents here also played a big part in getting you elected.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm totally for the removal of the barricade and having a toll free access for the Cheras Mahkota/Sungai Long residents. I'm sure the Cheras Mahkota residents were pretty well aware of the closure of the alternate road prior to buying their houses there.  And I believe that it is the developer's responsibility to provide a proper alternate road that escape the toll, rather than tapping on already jammed entrance to other housing estates. In order not to be cheated by unscrupulous developers, one should read up on the housing area prior to purchasing.

DAP has once again proved their "if we can't get the authorities to act according to what we want, we will do so with force" attitude. Well DAP, come next election, my neighbours and I from Cheras Perdana and Bandar Tun Hussein Onn will have to think carefully about whom to vote for.

Regards,

Daryl

    Dear Daryl,

Your view is totally eye opener to me...

It is funny how you think that the DAP single-handedly and
"illegally removed" the barrier. Illegal? Errmmm, building a
barricade on top of a state government without state
government's approval, was it legal? The state government
ordered to remove the barricade as long as the land belongs to
state government, and so does the land belong to the state
government? I'm not sure but apparently many of them said so...

And isn't it funny when you have totally 2 contradicting
paragraphs, namely 6th and 7th. While you mentioned that the
opening of the road will cause massive traffic jams and so on,
you also agreed to open the road...

It is perhaps very good for you to drive down to the barricade
site, and talk with the 'buka jalan' committee. Maybe you got to
really know why and how the road ended up being blocked! And
more so, maybe you should understand the history background of
the incident. Apparently, the developer itself is the victim, it
is not the unscrupulous-developers-that-cheat as you mentioned
in your letter. The residents did enjoy using the road for quite
some time, before it was forcibly barricaded by the GS.

It is certainly saddening that residents from the neighboring
area know nothing about the barricade (the history, the
    "politics")...

While I certainly respect your view towards the whole incident,
I would also hope that you could really go down to the ground,
and understand the whole controversy. After all, it doesn't harm
to know more about Cheras as a Cherasian, does it? :)

    Dear Daryl,
the reason behind all these traffic jam is because
the relevet authorities does not cooperate and
allign the traffic light system. to term DAP
together with BN is insulting... BN did nothing and
allow the barricade even the road has been approved
ny the kajang council. check your facts. do you
mean that bandar hussein onn should be given
priority to jam free, toll free roads. why don't
you ask grand saga to barricade the whole cheras
road so that you can have a better road system?

    Dear Darly,

I'm happy that eventually a resident from the
other side of Jalan Cheras sound out their
stand on this incident. But allow me to ask
    you few questions :-

    a. Do you do know that a lot of residents
staying along the Taman at Jalan Balakong are
using the access road at Tun Hussin Onn
to "skip" the RM0.90 toll? The cars from Taman
along Jalan Balakong also contribute to the
jam, should we close all the access roads from
Tun Hussin Onn to Jalan Balakong to appease
    you?

    b. I'm not staying in BMC or Sg. Long, I'm
staying in JB now but my home town is Sg.
Chua. The main reason I'm supportting them is
because if we don't show our concern in this
issue, one day other private company may
plunder or the most suitable word "pillage" my
    money & right too!

    YB & all my buddy-buddy,

While we are focusing on the BMC issue, may be
we should think about the possibility of
someone is purposely creating the "riot" to
divert our focus, especially to divert the
focus of Selangor State Government. Because it
doesn't make sense for PDRM & Grand Saga
    to "stir up the fire".

Secondly, we feel a bit of strange why the
central government & all the BN people are
quiet in this issue. Why they give up
the "golden" opportunity to fire Pakatan
    Rakyat?

    TQ!

The arrogant statement of Kajang OCPD &
Director of Grand Saga, really make us sick!

My friend in Balakong said she is regret of

Can you get PKR, Cikgu Lee, & MP of Pas to

are they want our vote for the next election?
Cikgu Lee, especially, mentioned in 12GE that

Just one more thing I have to add. YB Teo
allowed a post critical of her and her party
to be aired in her blog, which proves your
    statement to the effect that:

"the PKR/opposition party is no better than
the BN guys we once criticised."

is wide wide off the mark.

You are just looking at the private rights of
a few in your area and overlooked the other
issues like proper town planning, excessive
police force, questionable chain of command,
    natural justice and fairness.

Look who is closer to the "the BN guys we once
    criticised."

Hi MCA supporter aka BN RD,
Well,it is pointless to put the blame on developer or worst
still the residents for buying house without study their plan
properly. The blame should solely and i would say 100% on this
unscrupulous, corrupt and unfair government. Shouldn't this
so-called open highway allow the surrounding area to connect to
it and moreover it is an existing junction? Would this thing
happen to Malay area ? Would developer get approval from LLM
without paying a visit to our Samy Vilu than? Traffic jam is
caused by inconsiderate design on the part of highway
concessionaire for not taking into account of projected traffic
flows. And if you ask me which "highway" is not jammed even you
pay for it, i would say none. Example, a journey of 15 minutes
would take you 45 minutes in LDP every morning... So whose fault
? Dun compared yourself with PR MPs who at least got the gut to
do work and have the"passion" to see thing changed.

    Hi All,

    Daryl,

As what you comment, you are a selfish person. You don't care
for other people which only think of yourself. If you can
somehow put yourself in BMC's resident's shoe, you will know how
they feel and you might be one of them to bring down the block.
I myself is staying in Kajang and it have nothing to do with me
but I do have sympathy for them too. Just imagine that if your
side only have one exit with so many residents, I'm not talking
only CP residents and T.H.Onn but as well as the village and
others as well and daily you need to come in and out from the
same way. Won't it be a massive traffic jam as what BMC and
    Sg.Long residents experiencing now?

Hope you will learn not to be a selfish person in the future.
Let the next generation learn to be more tolerate, care for
    others and generous.

YB Lim and other MPs and YBs,

I respect your bravery and hope you will be recover soon to help

    Dear Daryl,

BN has ruled for many years and the problem is still unsolved
after 2 years of 'internal discussion'... Now DAP asked people
to measure & confirm who owns the area, gather to fight for
residents' rights, prevent Saga to put the block illegally, and
Chief Minister Khalib is going to sit down to discuss with
people involved next week... So, you think the former one will
    work?? Keep quiet & suffered??

    Dear YB,

You appear in the news again and again... and I truly see your
sincerity to solve the problems faced by residents.
Thank you! I love you! :)

There are 5 parties here - Grand Saga, Federal
govt, state govt, BMC developer and the most
important of all, THE RESIDENTS. For, without the
residents, there would be no issue and there would
    be no case.

Why is this happening at all???

Since the court hearing is coming up, and the
survey report has been delayed for OBVIOUS REASONS,

    - why not everyone hold off all actions until the
reports are out and the hearing has been done?

-Why did the federal govt jumped the gun before
    anything else?
-Why create havoc and anger among all parties?
-Why is MCA and Gerakan silent on this?
    -And where is Samy Vellu?
-Why is the Federal govt so 100% in pursuing this
    case in assisting Grand Saga?
-And why is MB Khalid trying so hard to run away
    from this matter?

Honestly, this matter has created more questions
    than answers.

    Part I

I do not think the opening of the barricades caused the massive
traffic jam. They are both two different issues opening the
barricade as one issue & traffic jam is another. I would like to
    comment on the latter.

In my observation, the traffic jam especially in the evening was
    caused by:
1)Selfish drivers (Whoever: police, mkpj, sb, gs staff even
supporters) making u-turn at the entrance of BMC (wall area) not
considering other users coming toward BMC.
2)Other selfish drivers parked their vehicle near the junction.
Pls park far up towards BMC or on the flyover & then jump down
    to monitor/join the gathering!

    Part II

3)BMC drivers going towards the highway who are colorblind &
cannot differentiate red & green lights. Just move fwd & blocked
the road for people going toward cp. Even buses have to tabik
    them to give way.
4)Vehicles from kl turning left toward BMC did not stop at the
red light (again...) coached by the volunteer traffic wardens &
denying access for people from Kajang & CP.

I supported the fight & barisan rakyat, joined the organized
gathering & rallies before. But the selfish & rude attitude of
    BMC drivers disgusts me.

To all out there, may god bless you & please stop at red lights.

Grand Saga should repair the road and upgrade
the traffic light system. As a highway company
(Grand Saga) should improve the road system
    instead of worsen the condition.

I suggest some party should sue Grand Saga for
putting TEMBOK HARAM on the access road (which
already proven belongs to the land of state
government) causing massive jam at Sg.Long
road for over 2 years affecting thousands of
    resident here.

Second, the incident on 8 May, Grand Saga
(without or failed to show proof) again
attempting to put another TEMBOK HARAM on the

Finally I think Grand Saga should remove the
