MACC urged to investigate former PKR man Tan
KUALA LUMPUR: DAP MPs Teo Nie Ching and Teresa Kok have suggested that Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) investigate former PKR man Tan Tee Beng for making false reports.
Tan alleged last week that Teo Nie Ching’s aide, Chua Hung Guan had received kickbacks for three years amounting to RM18 000.
He had then lodged a report to the MACC over the matter.
Speaking to reporters in Parliament today, Teo said that MACC has yet to summon her aide.
“If the allegations were true, look at the case of Teoh Beng Hock, MACC would not be kind to my aide, they would have acted on it immediately,” said the Serdang MP.
Seputeh MP, Teresa Kok was livid with the latest allegations against her party as she said that Tan made similar allegations against her in February.
She said that Tan accused her of siphoning off money from a single mother’s group who have since denied the allegations.
“Until now MACC has yet to take any action against us, maybe they should take action against him (Tan) for making these false reports,” Kok told the reporters.
Teo today challenged Tan, now independent Nibong Tebal MP to show proof of his allegations.
“He said that (Chan) took RM500 of the RM1,000 rental for the office since January 2009 to March 2011. We have the documents here, the receipts of payment made to the owner,” she said.
She said that she will send a letter of demand for Tan to retract and apologise otherwise he will be sued for defamation.
She also asked Tan to check his sources.
Teo said that she believed that Tan had got his facts from disgruntled DAP member, Yap Kom Min who was dismissed by party disciplinary committee for constantly making malicious charges against party leaders.
