[Borneo Post@Sarawak Election] Pakatan Rakyat promises a caring govt
SARIKEI: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said Sarawakians would get a government which can feel the people’s pulse if they give their mandate to Pakatan Rakyat (PR) come April 16.
“We (PR) want to form a government which truly can help the people,” he told a press conference here yesterday.
Lim said for starters, senior citizens would
enjoy special care if PR unseats the state BN next weekend.
“Senior citizens who are aged 60 years and above would be given at least RM500 per year,” he assured.
On land issues, Lim alleged that the present government was mismanaging it.
However, on land premiums, Lim admitted that there were marked differences between the rates here and those in Penang.
“But for low-cost houses, we (in Penang) give freehold title. Do you see that in Sarawak?”
Among those present were Serdang MP Teo Nie Ching, state DAP vice-chairman Chong Siew Chiang and Repok candidate Dr Wong Hua Seh.
