Source: http://tatiambia.blogspot.com/2011/03/protest-on-serdang-kitten-killer.html

Animal rights groups  Malaysian Animal Welfare Society & PETPOSITIVE, together with Lawyers for Liberty and others are handing over memorandum of protest to Democratic Action Party’s Secretary-General YAB Lim Guan Eng over the press conference of self-confessed kitten killer  on Sunday, March 6, 2011 by 2 DAP elected representatives.

They are demanding an apology from DAP ‘s assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah and Serdang Member of Parliament Teo Nie Ching  for defending the kitten killer instead of handing her over to the police to be arrested and investigated.

Animal welfare groups are particularly outraged by Yong’s  statement that “it was only a cat.”  All concerned citizens are invited to join in the protest which will take place this Saturday. Details are as follows:

Date:   12/03/2011
Time:  11.30am
Venue: DAP Malaysia, Ibu Pejabat Kebangsaan, Jalan Yew (off Jalan Pudu), 55100 Kuala Lumpur

Issued by Malaysian Animal Welfare Society.

Tati: Ok, I am a bit confused actually. I do not remember DAP assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah saying "It's only a cat" at the press conference last Sunday. I was there together with Lynn Wong and both us were allowed to go into the private room together with 3  other activists from MDDB (Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better). Maybe he did say that earlier before Lynn and I arrived as we were only allowed to meet Chow Xiao Wei, Chow's mom, Yong and Teo in the room after they ended their press conference session with the press.

No one from the media was allowed to enter the room with us 5 activists and whatever was mentioned in the room, I have already blogged about it here

I remember sitting next to YB Teo and while MDDB reps were talking to Ean Yong and Chow, I managed to ask YB Teo a few questions and she did say this:

"We are not here to defend her. We are here to allow her to apologize to the public. We do not decide what punishment she should get. The Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia will do an investigation after this meeting. And it is most likely she will be charged in court"

I think, if it was not for DAP, Ean Yong and YB Teo, we would have not been able to get a hold of Chow Xiao Wei, she might have not gone for medical treatment nor apologize for her mistakes or even agree to face her punishments. It was Ean Yong and his team that contacted the press for the PC.

I was in Serdang with Lynn last Sunday and we got lost on the way to the Press Conference. We were 45 minutes late and asked so many people for the correct address/directions to DAP Service Center.

We even went to the police station and I spoke and asked for help from 3 officers and they were so slow at getting things done. I can only imagine if we only relied on the cops, would we have gotten this far? For all you know Chow Xiao Wei could have escaped like those poodle abusers if it were not for the press conference.

Why this matter could not be solved calmly, she
had openly apologied and be prepared to face
consequences of her fault. We are humans and
supposed to have high intelligence, any body
could have made fault and errors and it is most
importantly that one's must learn from mistake
and regret for not repeating to make second
time. Therefore using our intelligency and
humantarian concepts to accept someone for her
first time attempting arogant action. We must
not abuse human rights to condemn another person
as I believe credit will be given for a big
heart and be appreciated by people.
Moreover both the YB's were merely render a
helping hands for asking her stand-out admitting
    and tender her appology openly.
