[Oct 2] Giving statement at Kajang Police station
Hian Wah and I were giving statement at Kajang Police station with regards to the surau visit issue. Many thanks to our lawyers Gobind and Lip Eng and comrades for your support!!
The questions raised by the Investigation Officer today include:-
- Adakah YB faham bahawa tindakan anda wujud suasana tidak harmoni?
- Adakah YB rasa tindakan YB menyebabkan masyarakat Islam tidak puas hati?
When asked why did the police call us for giving statement, the Investigation Officer answered, "Ada orang buat laporan polis, jadi kami mesti siasat." And my question to his reply was, "Jika saya buat laporan polis tentang kes orang masuk museum, polis akan siasat ataupun tutup fail? ”
DAP elected representatives appear to have caught the attention of the police, with three called to give statements within the space of a week following police reports made by unknown parties against them. When contacted by Malaysiakini last week, Serdang MP Teo Nie Ching said that the Kajang district police headquarters called her to come in for questioning. Teo told the media that, when asked, the police refused to tell her under which act she is being investigated for. "They also didn't want to give me a copy of the police report lodged against me. In fact, they didn't even want to tell me who made that police report.
