Brief reply to complaint on road condition and suggestion to have an extra highway exit

I have received the following comment on my blog on 7 December 2008: -

Dear YB.

I'm a new resident in pusat bandar putra permai (PBPP) seri kembangan, i would like to make some comment to improve better living condition as follows:

i) Road condition The road condition from puncak jalil to PBPP are from bad to worse i.e manhole, potthole and sink hole are everywhere and it's very dangerous to motorcyclist especially at night.

ii) KL Putrajaya highway Can we expect a positive news pertaining to the new exit for this highway via seri kembangan

We really hope the state goverment will help the rakyat.

Thank you

Regards,
Daniel Loke

Dear Daniel,

Thanks for your comments. Sorry for the late reply as I almost missed your comment.

My brief reply to the issues you raised: -

1. I will convey your concern to the Local Councilor in charge as your area falls under Seri Serdang constituency.

2. I have raised this issue several times in the Parliament (read here and here). However all the answers were not favourable. This issue is under the ambit of power of Federal Government. As such, despite the fact that we have taken over the state government, nothing much can be done by the state government.

sigh, federal controls a lot of thing. during mahathir's era, I
believe, that there was many amendments to shift power from
    state to federal government

if there is economies of scale and co-ordination of development
    then it is justified

One of the development is the ease of highway and toll
    construction, right>

if tat's the case , Pakatan will have to form the
next federal govt in the next coming polls , in
order to give more autonomy powers to respective
state govt to gain economies of scale & co-
ordination of development as mentioned by Wee Tak.

    Dear friend at 6th floor,

I'm sorry that I can't accommodate all your wishes. But pls try
to understand. When you are on leave, do you wan to receive
calls from your boss and be asked to handle this and that?
Steven has been working very hard in the past 6 months. I think
he deserves and need a good break. Besides, all my assistants
and I work as a team. Though each of us is unique and have
different capability, no one is unreplaceable. Pls be reassured
that all of us are always ready and wiiling to assist the
constituents and people. You may let me know if you have any
difficulties when dealing with my other assistants.

If however you are a personal friend of Steven and needs to
speak to him urgently, pls leave your contact details. You may
email it to me if you think that is more secure for your
privacy. I can see that you are actually quite relunctant to
reveal your name and number. I can fully understant as no one
likes to reveal their privacy unnecessarily.

Similarly, I bet you also would not like your boss to give your
contact number to all his customers without your consent. As
much as I wan to be a good MP, I wan to be a good boss too.

Pls try to put yourself in my shoes.

    Thank you.
