5/30 The First Time I Spoke English.
The first time I spoke English was when I was a high school sophomore. One night, I met a young American student on a bus. He did not know where to get off , and no one could give him a hand. Though I usually did well on English tests, I had never used English in real life. Therefore, I decided to speak to him and solved his problems.
I was glad I could help him; in addition, I knew the importance of speaking English in our daily communication. If I had not plucked up enough courage to speak English then, I would not have had the incentive to learn English better. I firmly believe that languages should be used in real life, not just in class. The more you speak English, the more fluent you will be. So, let’s try to speak more English in our daily life.
5/2 The Best Tourist Attraction in Town
Tainan, the city in which I live, is the first developed city in Taiwan and thus is packed
with historic sites. The Tainan Confucian Temple, built in 1665, is the oldest in Taiwan
and was once the highest educational institution. Follow the footsteps of past
students, step through the gate into the great court, and you are sure to enjoy the
beautiful architecture and atmosphere in this ancient temple. Trees are everywhere
and squirrels jump up and down the branches. Walk further and you will see old
classrooms with red walls surrounding the shrine of Confucius. Every Septimber, a
traditional ritual is held in memory of Confucius. In addtion, this ancient temple also
serves as a recreational spot for the locals. A trip to Tainan won’t be complete
without a visit to the Tainan Confucian Temple.
