4th dimension - Part 1

First of all, before the flaming ever occurs(that is if people actually came and read my blog one day :P), I am no physics expert. I have no qualification so say anything that is worthy of being noted in the field of physics, yet this particular theory/fact/indescribable thing fascinates me to write my own theories about it.

We will start with something simple, where anyone with the knowledge of simple maths would understand. We learned a Cartesian plane in our secondary school(in Malaysia). From the Cartesian plane, we can see clearly what is meant by 2D, a flat surface. there are only two measurements to it, width and height. From the 2D plane, we can create shapes that appear to be an object, but is nevertheless still flat. Further in our studies, we learn that the Cartesian plane, previously only having an X-axis and a Y-axis (for width and height), could be extended with a Z-axis, running right through the middle. With the Z-axis added, we could now imagine 3D, with three measurements width, height and thickness. With the Z-axis, we can form in our minds the object within our imagination, balls, pyramids, even spiders(though they would have a REALLY complex equation to symbolize it).

Parallel Humanity

Running through my multicore programming notes, I suddenly notice how similarly life evolves within computers and ourselves.

We start out as a primitive machine. We know nothing other than our basic processes, eat, sleep, desire, fear, learn and trust.
