Day 3 (Part 3) 台中 - 紙箱王 (Carton King)

Our next destination was 紙箱王創意園區 (Carton King).   The entrance fee was 100twn, however, we could redeem with any purchase (eg. DIY kit or food).

The theme of Carton King was paper creativity.  There were 4 sections - 蜜蜂故事二號館、紙箱故事館、包裝故事館 and a restaurant.  This page got lot of pictures so please be patient.

There was a big outdoor green lawn where there were several paper art works like 'Leaning Tower of Pisa' (7.2m tall), Eiffel Tower, Windmill and etc.  These were made of special paper that can withstand rain.

Bees in the garden !

See the gigantic bee !

Can you see the frog in the pond ?

You could buy the DIY miniature paper art work as souvenirs - nicely packed in box.  Some also came with the led light.  They came in various sizes - miniature or big and not too expensive.  (Small ones range from 150twn onwards)

紙箱故事館 - there was also a DIY area where kids and parents could buy DIY kit and assemble into finished products.
In fact, you would be amazed that the paper could be made into bags, hats, furniture.

If you are thirsty, you can buy a drink here - see these drinks are packaged uniquely !

蜜蜂故事二號館 was on the 2nd floor.  As you went up, you could see all the bees that were made of paper.  Even the wall paper were all bees.

There were explanation on the bees and bee products like biscuit, wine, pollen, honey, jam and etc.

Did you notice all the displayed shelves and cashier area were made of cardboard ?  This place could really demonstrate the power of paper creativity and usage!

Afternote: We bought a lovely X-mas tree DIY kit (came with light led).  Here's the picture after we fix it!

    Hi,
I would like to find a driver for the Taichung and Alishan leg of my
    upcoming Taiwan holiday.
Can I have Mr Yang's contact details? How much did he charge for your
Alishan tour? From Alishan, I will be heading to SML-Puli-Cingjing.
About your Taichung-Shinshe tour, which minsu did you stay? Did you
get a driver for the trip to Shinshe? I heard that there is a Shinshe
shuttle bus that allows you to hop on and off within Shinshe for
NTD250 per person. I am not sure if it starts from Taichung or within
    Shinshe.
    Thanks for your help.
