Best place to have ramen in Toronto is Niwatei 丹羽亭 (3160 Steeles Avenue East, Unit 2, Markham, ON L3R 4G9 Canada). Menu is simple, every dish is great, and in the summer, they serve cold ramen which is incredibly refreshing! Already looking forward to going back for lunch soon!

Celebrated student's birthday at Chili Secrets 半畝園 (9021 Leslie Street, Unit 9, Richmond Hill, ON L4B 0B2 Canada). The food is not bad but got annoyed at the waitress who kept plopping dishes on the table, completely out of reach. Probably would not visit again any time soon... rice cakes were too soggy

Can't go wrong with having noodles at Beijing Noodle No. 9 (Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 USA). The line up can be long on the weekends, but noodle orders generally serve up pretty quickly. Other dishes from the kitchen are not quite as fast...

Sometimes my schedule doesn't allow me to have meals at the designated "normal" hours, so at 2 am in the morning, I am grateful for No. 9 Restaurant (Unit 812-5300 Lansdowne Shopping Centre, 5300 No. 3 Road, Richmond BC V6X 2X9 Canada). They are open 24 hours everyday, and has quite an extensive menu.

So many Guus! If you are in Vancouver, get to Guu Original (838 Thurlow Street, Vancouver, BC V6E 1W2 Canada), get there right at opening time or be prepared to line up. Food is great, seafood is fresh, can't imagine it being otherwise in Vancouver.

One of the cleanest hot pot I've visited is Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot (405-5300 No. 3 Road, Richmond, BC V2X2X9 Canada). Service is fairly quick and the soup base are delicious. Food is very fresh, highly recommend!

Kaori Japanese Restaurant (30 High Tech Road, Richmond Hill, ON L4B 4L9 Canada) has the best chirashi in the Greater Toronto area. The portion is huge, and the sashimi is very fresh. Every table has a little button that you can press to call the waitress. Quiet enough at lunch to discuss business etc.

Cafe Lalo (201 West 83rd Street, New York, NY 10024 USA), the cafe that made a cameo in the movie "You've Got Mail" is a great place for brunch. It's actually pretty quiet in the afternoons, good place to get some work down while having a smoothie mixed with Kirschwasser.

Best breakfast in New York is Norma's at Le Parker Meridien (119 West 56th Street, New York, NY 10019 USA). The main reason to stay at Le Parker Meridien is for Norma's the next morning. If you can't wake up after having the burger the night before at the Burger Joint, have no fear, Norma's is open till 3 pm. Although I love the Canadian breakfast chain Cora's dearly, Norma's brings the art of breakfast to a whole new level. Everything on their menu opens the salivatory glands. My favourite is the Nova Smoked Salmon Ring, and the freshly squeezed orange juice and/or specially made smoothie completes the meal. Yum!

If you are looking for a tantalizing midnight burger in New York, you have got to check out Burger Joint at Le Parker Meridien (119 West 56th Street, New York, NY 10019 USA). It's located in a small corner of the hotel, behind the black curtain, down a short alley alight with a neon burger sign. Make sure you know what you want before reaching the cashier, the place is always packed but the line up is well worth the wait. The only reason to go around midnight right before they close is to avoid the crowds. Although wolfing down a burger so late in the day is not the best health choice, it's just too yummy to resist!

Had an amazing dinner prior to a night at the opera at The Grand Tier Restaurant (Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023 USA). Food was spectacular and the service was the cherry on top. The best part was that you had easy access to the elevator for the opera, and you can come back during intermission for dessert! Wish I was there right now~
