--able to be maintained or continued:

The growth momentum is likely to be sustainable into next year.


2.crowd /krɑʊd/ n [C]

--a large group of people who have gathered together:

Crowds of people watched the fireworks.


3.crime /krɑɪm/ n [C/U]

--an action or activity that is against the law, or illegal activity generally

[U] Violent crime has been reduced.


4.migrate /ˈmɑɪ·greɪt/, v [I]

--social studies to move from one country or region to another, often temporarily:

Farm workers migrate at harvest time.


5.incorporate /ɪnˈkɔr·pəˌreɪt/ v [T]

--to include something within something else:

This aircraft incorporates several new safety features.

 

   

6.rate /reɪt/ n [C] (MEASUREMENT)

--a measurement of the speed at which something happens or changes, or the number of times it happens or changes, within a particular period

We have relatively low unemployment rates these days.

--to imagine or expect that something is a likely or desirable possibility in the future:

He envisioned a partnership between business and government.


8.image
/ˈɪm·ɪdʒ/ n [C] (IDEA)

--an idea, esp. a mental picture, of what something or someone is like:

I had an image of Texas in my head that was totally different from how it really is.


9.reality

--the actual state of things, or the facts involved in such a state:

10.accommodate
/əˈkɑm·əˌdeɪt/ v [T]

--to provide space or a place for a group

The new dormitory will be able to accommodate an additional 200 students.


11.abandon
/əˈbæn·dən/ v [T]

--to leave behind or run away from someone or something, or to give up something:

Air attacks forced the villagers to abandon their homes.


12.squat
/skwɑt/ v [I]

--to position yourself close to the ground by bending your legs under you and balancing on the front part of your feet

He squatted down and picked up some pebbles.


13.shanty
/ˈʃænt·i/ n [C]

--a small, badly built house, usually made from pieces of wood, metal, or cardboard, in which poor people live

He lived in a little shanty in the desert, miles from anything else.


14.town

--a place where there are a lot of houses, stores, and other buildings which is smaller than a city:
