How safe is air travel
Many people are scared of flying because they are frightened that the airplane they are in will crash. And yet, while airplanes do crash, it is safer to fly in an airplane than to travel on the road in a car.
A survey done in the United States in 2001 found that 20% of Americans were afraid of flying. Of these, one in six people get scared or have phobias just stepped onto an airplane. Unfortunately, the events of September 11,2001 made people even more afraid of flying

On that day, suicidal terrorist crashed four passenger jets in America. Nevertheless, as a result of terrorist activities around the world, airports and airlines everywhere have stepped-up their security efforts. Some of the countries that used to openly support terrorist ideology are now unwilling to publicly support terrorist groups.
The National Transportation Safety Board (N.T.S.B.) in the United States estimates that the chance of being killed in a car accident in the USA is about one in 5,000. When traveling by train, it is estimated that there is about a one in 400,000 chance that a passenger will be killed. In an airplane, a passenger’s chance of dying in a plane crash is between one in 400,000 and approximately one in 10,000,000, depending on which airline they fly with. People who choose to fly with a reputable airline have a lower chance of dying in an accident. There is a greater chance that they will be killed driving to or from the airport than on the flight itself. So, air travel is one of your safest modes of transportation.
