嚴格說來，曼森並沒有真正殺過人。他與我們前面談過的艾德‧肯培不同，曼森長得非常矮小，不到一百六十公分，他的力量是來自智力。他因為體型不能服人，因此學會了觀察並且操縱人的方法。
