A Gang of College Students in High School Uniforms
They simply dropped in the school unexpectedly…
A gang of five, consisting of Beck, Elroy, Josh,
Po-sheng, and Zishien., all dressed themselves in
their former high school uniforms.
Well, it may not be exactly unexpected, for it is
quite natural a scene for college alumni(especially
those freshmen) , whose college semester ends earlier
than high school, to wander around the campus
with a view to paying visits to their teachers and
thus recalling those high school memories. Yet,
I was still caught off my guard when that gang of
five youngsters appeared outside of the classroom
where I was supposed to have my class do the final
review with a quiz paper.
Of course, I was informed of their coming, disguised as
high school students and I actually said my hello to them
before I went to my classroom. . I expected to meet them,
if need be, after I finished my job. While I was waiting
for my first graders to complete their test papers, I did
spend a couple of minutes thinking of what geniuses they
were to come up with the fresh idea of wearing old
uniforms to visit their alma mater. Then, for a couple
of seconds, I couldn’t believe what I saw---they did
SHOW UP in class asking to join in the quiz taking.
Honestly speaking, despite fifteen years of teaching
experience in this school, this was the first time
for me to encounter situations like this. And I have
to admit that I always feel awkward whenever I have
to handle such an impromptu action as this one.
They did help me recall those days when they were
required to wear uniforms and were not allowed to
fool around during class time. At that time, they
were seated in class as students still under my
responsibility, not outside the classroom in the
corridor as visitors. Yes, they already showed
their “talents”of creating endless fun things
to entertain themselves and headache problems
for me to cope with.
Strangely enough, though I felt the same headache this time,
I simultaneously found my tolerance towards their trouble
-making turn higher. After all, life doesn’t have to be so
rigid; once in a while it’s OK to create or accept something
different and have fun.
In fact, I really felt appreciated of their visit and their
contribution of adding some impromptu episodes to my routine
life, as well as the assistance in running the errands.
My treat for a luncheon is what I could think of as the way
to show my gratitude. Thank you, guys.

Senior high life was an amazing one, especially when i encountered such
a special and tolerant teacher. Through this experience, I actually learned
a lot of things, though it seemed that i was not that willing to be a "good"
student. XD To tell the truth, in my English learning way, you are one of
the teachers I highly respect and appreciate. ^^
It was too bad that i didn't have time to go back to chsh and
surprise you with my buddies. = =a That sounds really interesting. ^^
By the way, I passed by the place the other day where you took me to
participate in the English speaking contest when i was in the second grade.
The memory flashed in my mind and i can not help but smile. Though I missed
the garden party, I did grabbed something treasurable, the expericence.
The exam is approaching. I hope I will do good on it, just as you have urged me
in my blog. ^

"A gang" can mean "a group of people, especially young people,
who go around together and often deliberately cause trouble,
in addition to the common definition of "a group of criminals
who work together to commit crimes.
Anyway, you are welcome, guys, to visit here or else.
Let me have my fingers crossed for Charles; may him have a
high pass on the exam.
