Break Up Unplowed Ground in Mind (開墾心中的荒田)

How can a seed grow up to a big tree when it is sowed in fallow ground with thorns and weeds? How can a farmer sow the seeds without plowing the land?

There are so many earthen things which put a cover over mind, like a seed which is laying over by thorns and weeds.

Nowadays, earthen things are like weeds and thorns which are filled with mind, even if we do not lack for substantial things, we still chase after and get them continuously, but we will not be satisfied. Instead, the more earthen things we pursue, the less joy we will gain because of empty and unsatisfied mood in our mind. That is, when earthen things congest in our mind, it's not easy for us to be pure spiritually, not to mention to be joyful.

Farmers need to sow the seeds in the fertile land so that they can grow up to big trees. Likewise, the only way to be joyful is to purify our mind.

Break up unplowed ground and do not sow seeds among thorns and weeds in mind.
