A Letter for Gap Inc.
I finally finished my homework for Business English Magazines and Discussion, and I am so happy. Because I think that it is very difficult to me. HA~~HA~~HA~~

Dear Dan Henkle,
Regarding the article about Gap’s suppliers used child labor (Gap Inc. Launches Sweatshop Enquiry on Taipei Times News, Mar. 01). My opinion is the Gap solved this problem very well. But I think there are still somethings the Gap can do.
In this article, we learned that the children work 16 hours a day, often without pay. Factory bosses supposedly beat them with rubber pipes and put oily cloths in their mouths when they cry. This behavior is too cruel to these children. Gap should understand their workers’ situation and their needs. Maybe the fact will not be changed about the use of child labor in India. Gap has to study the background of child labor's life, and understand their needs. Once these children lose this job, they will become a burden to their families. Maybe they will be vagrant beggars and cause social problems.
So I think that Gap can formulate the work rules and salary plan for child labor. For example, the children work 8 hours a day. At the same time, they can establish a foundation to help children’s family. Finally, the most important thing is Gap has to supervise their subcontractors if they still abuse children. In this way, Gap can continue to keep their image clean.
Sincerely,
Jessica Wang
