I had experienced in using the portfolios in the university for several times. The experience I had was not pleasant. Most of the work I had done was all of sudden at the end of the semester. I did not know in aspects this portfolio could help and why the teacher used it.

At first, I really had a bad impression in using the e-portfolio. I thought the nightmare would come again. Though the whole semester, I think I have changed my point of view toward the e-portfolio. For constructing the e-portfolio, I have well-organized processes, and I also have the clear guidelines for constructing. That is what I like the most. It really helps me a lot in constructing the e-portfolio.

The advantages of implementing e-portfolio are following:

1.      I can visit other classmates’ portfolios frequently. We had lots of tasks or topics as the same. But there are always lots of ideas among us. By visiting these portfolios, I can learn more or get extra ideas in the same topic.

2.      Getting the feedback from peers or teachers. For e-portfolio is totally open to everyone on the internet. My tasks can be seen at any time. I am so happy that the blog provides the space for message leaving. Sometimes I get the feedback from others. Helping me point out the strengths and weaknesses that I really appreciate these messages and comments.

The tough work in constructing e-portfolio is the operational problems. I am not good at the operation of computer. I have the troubles with posting my tasks on the blog (especially with the table). That is the biggest problem. And constructing e-portfolio really costs time.

Constructing e-portfolio has a good relation with the content course. It really helps me a lot in the content knowledge. The course is about testing and assessment. We have introduced lots of manners for assessing. E-portfolio is one kind of alternative assessments. We not only have the knowledge of assessment but implement it into practical use. And most of the tasks we have done are also related to the content course. I also refresh my memory about the ideas which were learned in the class when I construct my e-portfolio.

I like the ideas of using portfolio as one kind of assessment instead of all the paper-and –pencil tests. It would be more objective to implement different kinds of manners in assessing one’s ability. For person like me would be anxious about the time-limited tests. Tests probably may not show the best performance I have. Portfolio could be more successful in showing my peak performance as well as the progress. In sum, I have a positive attitude toward the e-portfolio constructing.
