2 weeks as "RP"

Life at Battalion HQ is definitely much more relaxed than when i was with the Company. 2 weeks on, I'm still not used to the lighten workload. Training has been tough en-route to the Red Beret Presentation, which will be on Friday. Alas, I will not be in the Parade. PES C9L2 (PERM) means that there's no way back to be with the Company again.

不然我們換角色?看你好不好受?

受這種傷,我要的嗎?埋怨我什麽?我現在比你們輕鬆,那又怎樣?還能比啊?!頭上的帽,顔色都會不一樣了。

Diagnosis: Prolapsed Intervertebral Disc

For those who have been accusing me of 'chao keng', get this straight into those cemented skulls of yours, this is official: There is a REAL problem with my back!

MRI, then Brunei...

I'll be heading to Changi General Hospital later for my MRI scan, before going to the airport tonight. Worries...

Ke-walan ke-hormatan, will I be next NDP?

Looking at the senior coy marching in the National Day Parade, I wonder if I wil really be there next year.

For Higher Pay and Less Reservist?

To get the Red Beret, one must meet the 5 veto-factors: IPPT commando silver standard, pass 1.5km SOC, complete BAC, complete overseas training in Brunei and complete the 72km route march in FBO. Thousands have done it. My seniors in Scouts have done it: Guang Jie, Sean Liew and Patrick. Former schoolmates have done it: Si Liang, Willis, Chen Shao, Clovis and Fu Zhuo. I have passed my IPPT and SOC. Brunei is due this September and the route march by November, which I'm quite sure I will pass in time to come. The only thing standing in my way is the BAC, the 34ft tower and the 1000ft live descent.

How did I fare in my interview yesterday? Seriously, I have no idea...

Celebrate your birthday under a durian tree.

The handphone beeped. “Happy Birthday! All the best this year and good luck! ” Time check: 0211. This came all the way from Australia, from my Hong Kong friend who is studying there. Thanks for the heart. I still rested well. Mum’s sms came slightly after reverie. Yuheng and Xuanyun sent their greetings later. Thanks for remembering my day, though you are not the people I wished for. Today was also the last day of my vocational course. I really hate the Arctic sniper weapon, it is 7.7kg and it’s supposed to be in my field pack during missions! (Actually, if I ere to carry it any other way, I would surely faint.)
