In Romania :)
Just an update on me in Romania
I didn't actually have time to write an update so just took bits and pieces out of my emails :P
sorry for my laziness~
when i got here in Brasov last tuesday, we stayed at these Nigerian
guys room coz they were outa town and the dorm shower was horrandous..
like literally .. it was only separated with the shower curtain.. !!
and it's a unisex shower~ the second dorm i moved to was better.. at
least the showers had doors even though.. still unisex.. and when i was
taking a shower yesterday.. there was a girl and boy in the same
shower.. @@".. as you can imagine.. i just took a very quick shower and
left them alone.. even though they didn't sound like they minded my
company haha.. :P the first night i stayed in the second dorm, the
aiesec people didn't negotiate well with the reception lady and she
came into the room looking for me and had an aggressive arguement with
my temporary room mate for letting stay there~ it was like 12.30 am and
she told my room mate that i had to get out by 8am~ kinda scary for a
bit.. like getting throw out of a forign country.. i felt like i was
getting deported @@" but they finally sorted it out the next day... and
lent me a key so i could go back to the room whenever.. my room mates
were from Moldova! extremely nice people.. who spoke very little
english~ so we communicated with body language and by using google
dictionary! :P it's funny how when you don't speak a certain language
and dunno the place they treat you like babies.. kinda.. she cook
breakfast for me and did the laundry for me for 3 days! and that was
the first time i tried romanian food~ semolina, porridge, halvie~ etc.
I was a little upset when i moved out, coz i'd like to have them as my
room mate!
we moved into a villa yesterday and will be there for 2 weeks from
now~ the villa has a partnership with AIESEC brasov so i think they
give them a good price or something.. it's a nice room with our own
shower.. but I'm still staying with Rik.... fortunately in different
beds~ I get the double bed :D we have a tv in the room and their MTV
channel's pretty awsome! half english music and half romanian music!
sometimes russian too! the music just sounded really spanish!!
I'll hopefully upload some pictures and maybe write a note on facebook later~
write me!
I've been in Romania one week as of today~ and i was already a little bit homesick~
but
i'm hanging it there~ and looking forward to the conference in mid
november and hoping that permanent accommodation will be sorted before
jody gets here~ coz jody's on the same boat if they haven't sort out a
place for us to stay.. >_<..
missing nz :P but the people here are huggie
and warm~ they're making all the difference despite the accommodation
difficulty~
love you all~ :) and keep me updated with how everything's going in NZ ~
hugs from Romania
