The Bald Man and the Fly
(There was once a Bald Man who sat down after work on a hot summer's day)
(A Fly came up)
不斷地在他的頭頂嗡嗡徘徊 (and kept buzzing about his bald pate)
三不五時叮咬他(and stinging him from time to time)。
(The Man aimed a blow at his little enemy,)
但手掌卻打到自己的頭 (but his palm came on his head instead)。
蒼蠅不斷地騷擾他(again the Fly tormented him)
但這次他變聰明了,他說 (but this time the Man was wiser and said):
「如果你在意卑鄙的敵人,只會對自己有害 ("You will only injure yourself if you take notice of despicable enemies.")。」
