Martha of Vineyard
4-7 April 2008 Thurs-Sun
I went to the island with host family. We took ferry to reach there.
MV is a pretty well island. It is calm and fresh breath. It was yet crowded.
Perhaps not a summer time. I still can see the natural of this island.
These few days, the weather here was so bad!! Raining and raining...
Friday morning, we had our breakfast in Linda Jean's Restaurant,Oak Bluffs town.
I enjoyed my mix-berry French Toasts and coffee very much in such romantic atmosphere.
Later, we were hanging around Vineyard Heaven. They bought some books from
the book store. I got some postcards as memory.
I had Texas Chicken Sandwich as my dinner...
We stayed nearby Edgartown. I felt peace and relax there!! The weather turned
and become partly sunny on Saturday. I was so excited!!! I walked around Edgartown
and collected some visitor's info from the center.
Not much people there and almost all the shops were closed until summer.
I went to some points of interest such as Memorial Park, Old Whaling Church,
Federated Church, Chappy Ferry... I sat on the terminal of Chappy Ferry, kept my eyes
on the sea and beautiful scene.
I met a nice bus driver. She gave me all the information. I took that bus to
Oak Bluffs town again. I walked through the town. I had my oakmeal raisin and
hazelnut coffee in Mocha Mott's. Later, i went to Ocean Park.
There was a house with red roof grabbed my eye.
It is Norton anti-virus software Boss' house.
Beside that, I saw the Memorial Statue of soldier Charles T.Strahan, who settled on the island and
became the editor of MV Herald. There was seaside opposite Ocean Park.
I stepped on the beach and collected sand and shells.
Just few people were hanging around there.
It's time to back home. Wow, same driver again. I was so happy.
I chat with her again before leaving Edgartown. She was so nice and friendly!!!
We left here on Sunday afternoon. I may come again in this coming summer!!!
There is still half part of island waiting for me to explore..
Next time i can have a bike trip. Haha....
