While not as polarizing as some of the later films on Ledger's CV, this medieval romance set to modern music definitely divided the audience. Some loved the idea of people singing Queen's "'We Will Rock You'' while watching Ledger's commoner 平民 (牛津大學等的) 自費學生 defy the rules and become a jousting hero. Others couldn't stand him dancing with Shannyn Sossamon's fair lady to the courtly strains of David Bowie's ''Golden Years.''
