YST concerto competition

February 16, at 7: 30 in the Yong Siew Toh conservaotry of music, an exciting concerto concert was sucessflly held.
There were 4 finalists selected from the previous rounds, and my favorite was the cellist, Bin Xia Liu. She was very mature muscally and technically in her playing.
But ''unfortunately'' the result was not in my expectation, the first prize winner was granded to a 16 Taiwanese girl. In very personal my opinion, I enjoyed the cellist's performance more at that night, because she was very exciting and passionate but also in control.
The Taiwanese young gifted violinist showed her ''supernatural'' talent in music by that extremely fast and swift arms, bows and flying fingers, it definitely looked stunning to the general audience, but to me, she was too much of ''showing off,'' and messy in sound quality.
Of course I am being too critical and mean, but in fact, this is a competition concert. Anyway, overall, the concert was brilliant, the great enthusiasm was shown by those 4 talented performers.
