Emilio pucci
Designer Matthew Williamson re-imagined Emilio Pucci’s simple, minimalist cuts in a rounded silhouette for Pucci’s fall/winter 2008/2009 collection.
Sculptured sleeves emphasize roundness to cocoon felted wool and angora coats. Skirts and dresses take on curved, egg-shape forms.
Emilio Pucci’s passion for the slopes transpires in sporty outerwear including quilted silk printed jackets and hooded wool knit parka with inserts of printed nylon.
Luxury fabrics: printed cashmere knits duchesse Capri pants. Glazed shear lings play with length and profiles in a bomber, trench and a pod-like coat. Fox fur is long in an oversized belted coat and sheared in a chubby cropped bolero.
Sunray pleats cascade down free-flowing printed silk georgette dresses. Jewellery like beads and washes of sequins showcase intricate craftsmanship on tunics and short dresses.
Modern, new prints that echo Pucci’s signature patterns are layered together. Cristallo - a graphic design resembles fractured crystals arranged to kaleidoscope effect, Diamante - a blown-up, kinetic take on Cristallo, Alpi - abstract broken swathes of muted colour and Monterosa - elaborated from a panorama of the Alps.
A soft palette of frosted lemon dove grey and navy contrasts against blue-violet, magenta, jade and peachy-orange.
Accessories reveal winter motifs — crystal pendant necklaces, thick graphic silver bangles, satin and leather clutch and python belts adorned with clusters of resin icicles. Oversized patent leather bags and lace-up platform boots with mountain climber style hardware.
