When I was into this company, I knew many foreigners. Although I was
scare of talking to them, I still tried to chat with them. Because I hadn`t practice
my English long time, I would like to improve my ability. Then, I was able to
have closer friendships with my foreign coworkers. For example, initially I
joined this cram school, I made friend with a girl who came from South African.
Because she taught English in our cram school, we used to work together. Sometimes
we went to scenic spots together on weekends. I spoke English with her, and she
used to improve my English a lot. Even though she went back, we sometimes keep
in touch with each other. After that, my supervisor knew that I am interested
in English. I know I have to improve myself, so my supervisor helped me to ask
for exchanging language with them. I got more opportunities to have
conversations with foreigners. I think conversations make friendly atmosphere
among people.Five years ago, I was into this cram school. My supervisor told me that
don`t treat them well because they wouldn`t treat you with wholeheartedly. So I
had a stereotype about foreigners, I didn`t know how to get along with them.
But the second example that let me know that is so wrong. She is a girl from
Britain. I exchanged language with her, so we went out often. One time our
coworker, a Chinese girl, broke up with her boy friend. We hung around and
stayed with her. She gives consolations to this girl. When she got drunk, Alice
took care of her. Even more because she was worried about the girl, she took
her home. Then, she walked back to her own house by herself at midnight. I was
so surprise that she did this. But she just said,” you are my friends and we
have to take care each other”. In general, foreigners are friendly to Taiwanese. From my experience, a
person who treats others well. They will get the same things from others.
Wherever you stay, I think this kind of rule that won`t change. If you want to
get, you have to devote.
